DTE Energy Appoints Brenda Craig as Chief Communications Officer, Succeeding Retiring Paula Silver

DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE), a diversified Detroit-based energy company, announced that Brenda Craig has been appointed Chief Communications Officer, effective October 30, 2025. Craig will succeed Paula Silver, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, DTE Foundation and Corporate Citizenship, who will retire at the end of October following a decade of leadership with the company.

In her announcement, DTE Energy President and CEO Jerry Norcia recognized Silver's contributions, stating, "From keeping customers informed and supported during the pandemic to inspiring our team members to give their best, Paula’s leadership and friendship will be greatly missed. We wish her all the best in her next chapter." Silver is credited with transforming DTE’s communications approach, building a "world-class communications team," and guiding the company’s corporate citizenship initiatives over ten years of service.

Craig joins DTE from her role as Vice President of Integrated Communications at Henry Ford Health, where she was responsible for complex communications and public relations strategies. Her portfolio included oversight of communications for 50,000 team members and service to over two million patients and insurance members across 550 sites. Prior to her tenure at Henry Ford Health, Craig held other notable communications leadership roles in the healthcare sector.

At DTE Energy, Craig will oversee all aspects of communications and brand strategy, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. She will collaborate with teams across DTE’s energy businesses, which include an electric company serving 2.3 million customers and a natural gas company with 1.3 million customers in Michigan. In addition, Craig will partner with hundreds of organizations to positively impact local communities, supporting DTE’s ongoing investments in education, employment, emission reduction, and economic development.

In a statement, Craig expressed enthusiasm about her new role, saying she is “excited to join a company dedicated to serving communities with reliable and affordable energy, especially at such a pivotal time for the energy industry, which is experiencing unprecedented transformation.”

Silver, meanwhile, reflected on her tenure by noting, “These past ten years have been the perfect capstone for my career. I have had the good fortune of leading an amazing team of communications professionals, working with peers, and serving incredible senior leaders all focused on taking care of our communities and employees.”

With Craig’s arrival, additional leadership changes have been announced. Evette Hollins, Vice President of Customer and Community Engagement, will now oversee DTE’s corporate citizenship initiatives and the DTE Foundation. Rodney Cole will continue in his roles as President and Board Chair of the Foundation.

DTE Energy continues to advance its carbon reduction targets and has reiterated its commitment to sustainability and investment in Michigan communities.
